The Sonker Festival is held each year on the first Saturday of October at the Edwards Franklin House from 12 - 4 PM - rain (not hurricanes) or shine. It features the deep-dish pies, known as sonker, displays of local crafts and historical collections as well as traditional music performed by musicians from the area. The festival is held at the Edwards Franklin House.

There will be music and craft demonstrations, pottery and history displays. Attendees may tour the house as well. The historical society will also have a number of publications for sale.
